Help grant wishes this June by attending one of these upcoming golf events in Massachusetts. On June 9, the 2014 Make-A-Wish Golf Classic will take place at the Springfield Country Club and on June 30 the 22nd Annual Make-A-Wish Golf Tournament will take place at the Salem Country Club. Both of these events will benefit our partner Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, helping them grant the wishes of children facing life-threatening medical conditions. Since starting in 1987, that chapter of Make-A-Wish has granted over 6,000 wishes that bring hope, strength, and joy to Wish Kids and their families. Participate in one of these golf outings to help them continue granting wishes!
The Make-A-Wish Golf Classic
The putting greens and the registration desk for this event open at 10 a.m. on June 9 at the Springfield Country Club. Following that, golfers will enjoy a luncheon before the shotgun start at noon. This event will be in the Bramble Format. Once the golfing is done, participants can head over to the cocktail reception at 5 p.m., followed by food stations, the auction, and awards at 6 p.m.
The 2013 Make-A-Wish Golf Classic raised an amazing $72,485 for Make-A-Wish! Attend this year and help make the 2014 tournament a huge success too.
The 22nd Annual Make-A-Wish Golf Tournament
This event kicks off with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. on June 30 at the Salem Country Club in Peabody, Mass. In addition to the joy of granting wishes, golfers will also enjoy playing on a course that is consistently listed in Golf Digest’s “Top 100 Golf Courses.” Participants will play in a play-your-own ball (or best ball) format, where each player plays his or her own ball. The winners of the tournament will be the foursome with the best scores for Team Gross and Team Net. Following the competition there will be a post-golf reception and barbeque. Participants will also enjoy on-course offerings and live auctions, all while helping Make-A-Wish bring hope, strength, and joy to more children facing life-threatening medical conditions.
Since its first year, this tournament has granted over 400 wishes to Wish Kids in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Last year’s tournament was a great success, bringing in over $180,000 that went towards granting an incredible 24 wishes in the past year. Help them continue this tradition of wish-granting success by attending this year!
More Ways To Help Make-A-Wish
Attending one of these golf outings is an excellent way to help Make-A-Wish while having a great time outdoors. If you’re not able to attend, though, there are still ways that you can help grant wishes in your community. If you have an unwanted vehicle taking up space in your life, consider donating it to your local chapter of Wheels For Wishes. When you donate a vehicle, you could help grant wishes for a kid in a town like Springfield, Providence, or Boston! All you need to do is call 1-855-692-9474 to talk to one of our experienced donation representatives or fill out an online car donation form. Either method will only take a moment of your time, but will help grant a child’s wish and bring hope, strength and joy that will last a lifetime.
